My brother is having his first child in May and I couldn’t help but make some cute onesies for my nephew! I made these using a stencil method. After I cut the design in Oracle 651 vinyl (631 would work too I just don’t have any on hand right now), I reverse weeded the design to show where I wanted the color to appear on the fabric. I used transfer tape to place the image on each onesie, then using puffy paint (that works on almost anything per the bottle) I painted the designs in. To keep the paint from going through the front and onto the back, I put a piece of card stock inside of each onesie before painting. I let them sit for about ten minutes before I pulled the vinyl off to reveal the new design.
I think painting shirts is one of my favorite crafts. I find it relaxing… especially after a chaotic day around the house.
Give it a try and show me your work in the comments!
