I enjoy working on a commission piece, and this was no exception! A friend reached out for a request for a mid-century inspired tumbler, with a glitter flamingo! Too cute, and totally perfect for the summer. I love these requests because they give me something new and different to try that I probably wouldn’t do otherwise.

This one started with a striking glitter base, that became a peekaboo design for the flamingo and the text on the other side. I tried a new technique to get the water to have some variation of hues, using acrylic paint and water to thin it out and then pouring it onto the cup and layering colors while it was spinning. Hand painted leaves brought in different shades of green and a fun pattern to finish it off!
